How do you get music on it. Is there a way to change the volume so it's not so loud to the people viewing your profile?
i have a MySpace; i'm hardly ever on there, though. one of my friends has it and writes to me every once in awhile when she has computer access and that's pretty much the only reason i have one. i guess i'm too lazy to figure it out. my bro made the account and added the music and stuff like that.

not me. somehow you can add music if the artist of the song has a MySpace, but i don't understand how it works.
It is very confusing because everything is in some kind of micromedia thing and finding the add button on the artest's page is like finding a silver dollar on the street.

Ok, Still wondering about the music thing.
Is there a way to use the "top friends" feature? So far they are all in the order of ow they were added.
I'm not trying to get off topic or anything, but how do you guys use myspace or navigate it or what not? I'm thinking about getting one, but I'm not sure what it has to offer, and if it is accessible with JAWS and/or other screen readers. Any advice or suggestions? Thanks for the help!
It's pretty accessible for the most part. There are 3 problems I found.
1. The visual verification when signing up or changing a password.
2. Adding music.
3. Like I mentioned before, the top friends thing. It requires using a mouse.
Oh and 1 more thing. Some profiles have so many moving pictures or flash that jaws jumps around.
Other than that, I'm able to use it.
Thanks.I'll see if I can figure out the solutions to these problems or make them a minor issue instead of a major one.

I've never used my space, but I think it'd probably be rubbish with jaws, because it's apparently got lots of pictures and things on it.
I know some guy who is blind and he has a myspace.
I don't know how he does it.
I have MSN and I find that annoying enough sometimes.
It's the profiles with pictures and links to myspace layouts that are anoying. I managed to find a plain background without all those links.

I figured out how to add a song on myspace the other day. Yay! lol I was fooling around with it and luckily, I figured it out. It's so easy I can't believe I didn't figure it out before. You just route Jaws to PC and left click on add. How easy is that. haha

From what I know, hiFive is just like mySpace.
is there something I'm doing wrong? I rooted jaws to Pc and it seems to not want to work on add but I tried it on the play button and it works fine.

I'm sorry. I will try to be more clearer. lol I was in a rush when writing the previous post and didn't explain it well.
After you've searched for and found the particular song you want to add, you have to make sure the page shows you all the flash player buttons. If you use jaws 8, and search for all the buttons, it will most likely give you an inactive controll button. You have to activate it by hitting enter on it a couple of times. I say a couple of times because depending on the page, jaws might move around on you. You will know it's activated when it shows you 0button, 1button, 2button and so on. Those are the buttons to play/pause/skip to the next track.
If you down arrow to where it shows you the title of the song, there will be a line that says something like download verticle bar rate verticle bar add verticle bar...
Under that will be a bunch of dashes. You then route jaws to pc and find the line download verticle bar rate berticle bar... and hit insert numb 6 to move forward to add and left click on it. If the song is playing at the time, it will stop and you will be presented with a "Do you really wish to add this song to your profile?" and just click add if you do. The only down side of this is that if the page has more than one song on it, you might be adding the wrong song. But like anything, it takes a bit of practice to get the hang of it. lol I hope this explanation helps you. I find jaws 9 works a lot better with myspace and am very happy.

Hi guys. I've just created my space account for my friend. Everything seems fine except that I've filled interests section, but it does not appear in the profile. When I checked the information about interests is there, it just does not show up to people when they want to look at her profile; everything besides interests is perfectly visible. I listed my Myspace on my profile here. I tried Facebook but I just don't find it accessible enough for my taste, even the Mobile version. Even Myspace isn't completely accessible but it makes far more sense to me than Facebook.

The only web site I find easy for me is the zone.
Yeah the Zone's easy enough to use. Generally though I stick to Myspace for blogging and things.

myspace is such a has been, in my opinion. I too, prefer lj.
As far as fb goes, the mobile site is most accessible, but on the other hand from that one you can't edit your profile or leave groups or post links etc. There's also the lite version which is somewhat better than the straight up facebook.com, but now even that seems to be just as annoying and inaccessible as the original. I really hate fb, but it seems to be the leading social network presently. On another fb note, they made changes to the privacy settings page back in May, and my account has still not gotten the updated settings page. I went to email fb about it, and I could not because they have received so many email complaints about the bug. *sigh*
I've tried all those versions of Facebook and not one of them has proven to be as usable as Myspace. Granted even Myspace isn't completely usable but it's leaps and bounds better than Facebook as far as I'm concerned. At least when I click a link on Myspace I can tell it's been done right away instead of having to refresh the screen every time like on Facebook. I deactivated both my accounts on that site because I never logged in thanks to WebVisum and later the feature to turn off Captchas on Myspace as long as you're logged in. THe only reason I even bothered with Facebook was because a friend of mine told me they had an audio Captcha and at that time I hadn't made the switch over to Firefox and nor had I even heard of WebVisum. And I'd gotten sick of the Captchas on Myspace. But then once I discovered WebVisum and then later when Myspace implemented the option to use your mobile phone number to generate a code to turn off Captchas I saw no further point in Facebook. That and as I said having to refresh the damn screen just to get the new page to show up after clicking a link.
yeah the refresh thing on fb is seriously agrivating! Not to mention al of the things that jaws simply can't read. i have seen the new privacy settings page on someone else's account, and changing any of those settings is not jaws accessible. In short, fb makes me want to kick babies! lol

As for the facebook lite site? FB did away with it. Therefore, visiting the lite site automaticly redirects you to the full site.
